ATC Guide of the Month - July

Our Guide of the Month for July is a newcomer to the ATC family - Kelly Boyles! Kelly discovered ATC by attending our Best of the City Experience with Austin Monthly back in January. As we explored local venues and sipped on craft beers all day, she realized that she could be sharing her love of Austin with others through these experiences. Kelly reached out to us after the experience and the rest is history.

Kelly is full of local knowledge and shares that through the events she runs for ATC including the Deep Eddy Vodka Distillery Experience, The Fun Things Experience with Austin Monthly, Bat Tuesday Cruises and our Secret Bar Crawl. Her favorite ATC experience is The Fun Things Experience with Austin Monthly. Specifically, the Food and Beverage series that she ran on July 22nd. This event showcased some venues that were new to both locals and tourists alike, and even included a stop (Still Austin Whiskey Distillery) that won’t be available to the public for another month. “These exclusive, unique partnerships are what makes ATC great and provides an experience that can’t be replicated anywhere else,” Kelly said.

Kelly’s perfect day in Austin would start with breakfast tacos and end with a movie or sing-a-long at Alamo Drafthouse. She swears by the migas taco at Veracruz and lattes from Patika and Stonehouse Coffee. Like a true local, she’d break up her day with outdoor activities like kayaking Lady Bird Lake or taking a dip in Barton Springs Pool. Add in a snow cone from Sno Beach or soft service from Sandy’s to really cool down from that Texas heat. As the sun sets she’d check out a new restaurant (there’s always something new to try in Austin) and grab a cocktail before heading to Alamo Drafthouse.

If you aren’t convinced to have Kelly show you around Austin, you will be after you try her recommendation at Texas Keeper. “I really like their cider rosé, having a cider that tastes like rosé is the best of both worlds,” Kelly said. Don’t forget to check out some of her mouthwatering photos by follow her and her fiancé's foodie Instagram - @GourmetGarbage where they showcase “adult-ish twists on childhood garbage foods.”

Kelly’s favorite things about being an ATC guide is the people she meets while running events. “Just the other day I was hosting a tour and a man came up to me and asked if I liked my phone case. I started telling him how great it was and how my phone has never cracked when dropped and on and on until he said, ‘well good because I’m the VP of Product for that company - feel free to contact me if you want a new case.’ You never know who you’ll run into,” she exclaimed.
